This love is so natural
Yet it doesn't come from this world
As a matter of fact it's supernatural
Unlike the usual infatuation between boy and girl
This love is ... real
So real, it's not only something that you feel,
It's something that you do
Something that encompasses you
This love will set your world ablaze
Bring light to your darkened days
It will open and clear your eyes
Uncover all deception and lies
This love is so great, when you have it, you know it
You can't help but share it, it reflects you, you show it
This love has a plethora of characteristics, for
instance
I'm grateful that this love has all the patience it
can hold
Like when we constantly make mistakes, it doesn't
curse and scold
It patiently waits for us to repent of all the wrong we do
Because with this merciful love, time is not the issue
A love so kind, full of grace, sweet and tender
What could be gentler, than this love?
A love that does not envy, no it's not jealous
Because it's justly self-assured and because in you it trusts
A love that does not boast about how big, bad, and
bold it is
A love that's not too prideful to comfort you when you
shed tears
A love that is not rude; it doesn't snap its fingers
or roll its neck
No matter how much you forsake; it still gives you the
utmost respect
A love not seeking for self, doesn't ask "What can you
give me?"
But it gives us all that it has, and gives it joyfully
It's not easy to get this love upset or angry
Regardless of in how big of a mess you may be
It's not a record keeper, doesn't say "I will get even"
But instead this love forgives, seventy times seven
It does not delight in evil; it hates all that is bad
But with the truth this love rejoices, with the truth
it's glad
And with this love, we never have to fear
Because it ALWAYS protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres.
And the most important
reason we should all have this love
Is because of something that it NEVER does.
