As I ponder and reminisce
Shadows of yesterday pass
Joyous laughter, a mother's kiss
Treasure it! For tomorrow comes fast
Stolen innocence, robbed
of beauty
Hope is but a dream
We hate what we love- We long to escape
Or try our best to comprehend this scheme
We search for peace amid
the strife
The heart: the soldier and the bounty
Who can cease this ruthless life
The Prince of Peace and His Infantry's a'mounting!
