"
the
world needs what you have, back to the lab until you master your craft!"
- The Phanatik of Cross Movement
We've all heard
it said at one point or another that as Believers we should SET, the
bar instead of following the trends of the world. I agree with this
completely. Instead of laboring diligently, it seems that we "get
to it when we can," give the world our best and the Lord our
leftovers.
"My goal is to create a production team that has integrity,
a spirit of excellence, the passion and urgency to do whatever it
takes to save the lost." -Maji
Excuses only sound good to those who make them. Especially considering
the fact that Maji is married with a young daughter, produces music
and heads his own Ceramic/Marble Company and Record Label.
No doubt, ya family is ya first ministry, but it's not your only!
It bothers me to see the lack of urgency in the body. Catz out here
dying! All we do is make excuses on why we can't do this or that!
So what you got 2 jobs, a wife, 3 kids, etc. Christ died on tha
cross, now whut? To much is given, much is required! There's no
way a Corey Red or Cross Movement should have to wait 3 months for
beats from Christian producers. I myself WAS guilty of the same.
I remember talking to my man Todd Bangz (Tre Z) and I asked him
how does he still make beats and have a family, go to school and
work? He responded, "I just do what it takes!" If I get
home at 8:00pm I spend time with wifey and kids, study for school,
then I hit the lab. I stay up until I finish my tracks, no matter
how late it is. Ever since that conversation, I had no more excuses.
My pastor would often say, "God will never give you a responsibility
without the resources to pull it off!" I had the resources,
but lacked the fire to pull it off." - Maji
If you wanna roll with the Yuinon, it's gonna be some late nights
and long hours, Maji states, "I demand a track a day from any
producer that's down with the Yuinon." I-Ron-Ic-Lee, already
a dope producer, accepted this challenge and is the first beat maker
to join Maji on the Yuinon roster. He has a blazin' joint on the
forthcoming CD.
So whatever your gift is, writing, drawing, rhyming, making beats,
whatever, back to the lab! You represent the Rock!

"When I was in the world, I would stay up 28 hours recording
and mixing a song because I had a deadline to meet. Now that I'm
on this side, a lot producers and Mc's have no urgency! Maybe because
there's no money motivating them, I don't know, but it can get discouraging
at times. As I speak this, someone is about to commit murder, contemplate
suicide, join a cult, etc. That's what keeps me motivated; that's
my deadline!" - Maji
