Mission & History

What Is The Yuinon?

The Yuinon (pronouced union) is a momentous ministry and faith based 501c3 non profit organization.

Our Mission

Our mission is to counter negative cultural influences that misdirect the lives of youth and young adults by raising awareness to the deceptive tactics of Satan, through relevant programming, mentoring and ministry to bring healing and restoration through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create vibrant communities both locally and nationally where youth and young adults will not only thrive spiritually, academically, socially, and physically, but also discover their purpose in Christ.

The Yuinon's History

The Yuinon was founded by our current President and CEO Jason Wilson.  In 2003 the LORD gave him the vision to unite gifted and talented Christians nationwide; those determined to be salt and light to the youth and young adults who struggle with issues of identity and morality within the culture eroding right before our very eyes.  As a former member of the legendary Detroit based rap group Kaos & Mystro, Mr. Wilson has seen and experienced firsthand hip hop music’s negative influence and persuasive power.  The Yuinon originally started as a record label producing music that countered the potentially deadly influence of the hip-hop culture.  However our mission soon changed when we realized that after the music stopped, the negative pressures continued for the population of youth we were called to reach.  In 2005, Mr. Wilson pursued establishing the Yuinon as a 501c3 faith based non-profit organization, in order to gain access to funding that would allow us to offer more than just music to counter the negative cultural influence that our youth face daily.  In 2006 we received our non-profit status, and in 2007 we were awarded our first Federal grant for mentoring through the U.S. Department of Education.  Today the Yuinon has reached over 5000 Metro Detroit youth via intensive and innovative programming, workshops, assemblies and conferences.  We have collaborated with over 3-dozen churches, schools and youth serving organizations in helping urban youth.

History of Service

The Yuinon recognizes the importance of collaboration and community efforts.  We have been fortunate to serve our youth in conjunction with a diverse group of local and national youth service organizations.
